Thomas Jefferson Humphreys (my 4x Great Grandfather) was born January 25, 1843 in Georgia to John Thomas Burrough Humphreys and Sara Brock Humphreys.  In March of 1862, he joined the “cessies” [period slang for those supporting cessation of the South] and enlisted in the Confederate Army at age 19.
